Description of Project

Within project, BUS recharged of consulting in the component: “Applying Resource Recovery Facilities to Reduce Plastic Pollution in Lien Chieu District, Da Nang City, Vietnam”, including:

(i) Maintain the independent operation of 07 Resource Recovery Facilities without support from external organizations.

(ii) 70% of residents sustain the habit of waste separation at source and correctly use the facilities in the study area.

(iii) 80% of students, teachers, and school administrators practice waste separation at source and properly use the facilities in the study area.

(iv) Propose policies to implement extended producer responsibility.

Results, activities
Result 1 – Data on the volume of small package waste in urban areas, beaches, and islands, and recommendations to strengthen the implementation of extended producer responsibility for this waste category.
• Result 2 – Workshop to share outcomes from the implementation of the Zero Waste School Model and updates on the activities of the Vietnam Zero Waste Forum during the 2023-2024 period.
• Result 3 – Independent operation of 7 Resource Recovery Facilities and policy recommendations for the plastic reduction roadmap of Lien Chieu District for the 2025-2030 period.
